In the spirit of the “get out the vote”, we Democrats made a lot of noise about making sure people got out to vote, those that needed rides would get them, etc, etc. There was shenanigans on both sides of the aisle. But it is disturbing that five young adults were charged today in the tire-slashing incident that happenned to the Republicans on November 2nd.
We’re above that, folks. There’s no excuse for stooping down to Republican’s level.

Democratic activists charged in vandalism to GOP vehicles
January 24, 2005 — The son of first-term Congresswoman Gwen Moore is among five Democratic activists charged with vandalizing some Republican vehicles meant to be used on election day.
Sowande Omokunde, as well as the son of former Acting Mayor Marvin Pratt and three others are each charged with a felony count of criminal damage to property.
The five are accused of cutting the tires on some 20 vans and cars parked in a lot adjacent to a Bush campaign staging office. The vandalism was discovered by Republicans before the polls opened November second.
State G-O-P executive director Rick Wiley says the disabled vehicles blocked others in the lot and delayed Republican poll watchers by a couple hours. Wiley couldn’t say whether it prevented anyone from getting a ride to the polls.
