This is actually a great little story, about people upset with the US Supreme Court’s decision about eminent domain, and the thought of using it against one justice that voted for it. David Souter voted with the majority that eminent domain could be approved for private use, when they evicted seven home owners so that a hotel and office buildings could be built “for the greater tax benefits of the city”. Well, apparently Justice Souter lives on a nice piece of property, and people are saying that he should be evicted so that a hotel can be built on his property.
Eminent domain has been used horribly in this country, and the Supreme Court’s decision just extended that. Maybe now people will sit up and take notice.
