Did you see the news that Cindy Sheehan is threatening to run against Nancy Pelosi, if Ms. Pelosi does not introduce articles of impeachment by July 23rd?

Honestly, I think this is a GOOD thing, for two reasons. First of all, I know Nancy Pelosi is very well known, and is respected in her party. However, a great many people identify with Cindy Sheehan, and the message that she tried to put out. Cindy is a good part of the reason that the Democrats took the majorities in the 2006 elections, and the fact that Democrats have decided to cave in to Bush on Iraq war funding and just about everything else our temper-tantrum president has thrown at them. This is one sure fire way that we can get pressure on Democrats to get off their ass and do something.
But the other thing about this situation is, Sheehan is not some fringe lunatic without a shot at winning. Sheehan is a credible threat, and could give Pelosi a run for her money, possibly unseating the House Majority Leader. Of course Sheehan would not automatically ascend to Pelosi’s position should she win, but the very possibility of Sheehan being in the House would be a moral victory for those of us that have put country first, railing for our troops to come home and get out of this illegal war.
